Staying On Track
There are a lot of things to do in life. Business, family, pleasure. Staying on track in all areas of your life is another balancing act we need to master.
When I have easy things to list on Ebay, I work well. Other items I have to think about listing or not listing and for how much if I do list them. Some of my things are old electronics, but some old electronics are still valuable. I have a hard time staying on track when I am listing old things I am not sure will sell.
Often I look at a our warehouse full of “junk” and wonder what to sell next. Other times I look at the same stuff an am excited about the prospects of getting it sold.
My old inventory is no longer prime merchandise, but it still sells. A lot of thought goes into what to sell next. As I have said in the past it takes as long to write up an ad for a $10 item as it does for a $50 or $100 item. Since I have old inventory, it is a guessing game what to try and sell next.
All in all we are doing well selling on Ebay. As I have told you, our public Ebay ID (one of six) is electronicspart. On that ID we list electronic components, old computers, monitors, old mainframe computer boards and similar computer related parts and pieces. We also list old obsolete electronic test equipment, vacuum tubes and similar stuff.
Sharon and I have always found that we do best when we sell things we know more about. I was an electronic technician for over 30 years, so computers and test equipment are what I know about — electronics. We do OK with other things, but for money in a hurry it pays for me to stick with what I know best.
You may also find that what you know is where to start with any endeavor. Most who start selling on Ebay start with things around their home and then branch out into other things.
