We Have A New Home
OK, the saga of Bob and Sharon being “evicted” is over. We signed a lease for a 665 square foot “apartment”. Actually it is part of a house divided into two separate downstairs sections.
Evicted? If you have not followed, we were living in our warehouse and motorhome. Either is illegal to do in our city. No one pays attention until someone reports it, then the city has to take action. Someone, probably a business neighbor we have had previous problems with, turned us in. Funny, the last he turned us in was to our common landlord. He was complaining because we were parking our vehicles in our section of the property. The landlord and I had a good laugh.
We still have moving to do. Furniture, nick-knacks etc. Because we are not moving from one place to another and have to vacate the first place, it is easier. We can move in at our leisure. We are still renting the warehouse for our business, we just cannot live at this location any longer. We will have almost everything moved in over the weekend.
So onward and upward, as they say. Yesterday we had another excellent day selling on Ebay. Today appears like it will be a good day.
Why do we have to wait until our back is against the wall to work at our best? That is how I have often done things. This goes all the way back to high school and waiting until the last week to write a report that I had 6 weeks or longer to research and put together. I am putting more energy into our business than I have in a long time.
I think those who have the discipline to work when they should are very fortunate that they learned to approach life in that manner. For those of us not at lucky, we need to work at turning over a new leaf to consistently move us forward with fewer and fewer stops and slow downs.
BAD NEWS! Our new place has all utilities paid including cable TV. We do not normally watch ANY television. No news, new sitcoms, nothing. Sometimes we would watch Survivor on a very snowy screen. We have and antenna on the roof of the warehouse, but reception in this area is poor. Last night we watched a crystal clear Survivor, then CSI then something on the History Channel.
YIKES! Television could be a problem. I like TV. It is just such a time waster we gave it up. I hope we continue NOT WATCH it, or at least very little of it.
