Getting Comitted

One of the difficult challenges for many people, myself included, is getting committed. Oh, we want to get ahead and we mean to finish this project and start the project, but we seem to keep putting off what we know we should be doing.

If you have been reading this blog, you have noticed that I have the best of intentions, but am not getting ahead as fast as I would like. This is one reason I went back to selling on Ebay. Even that is going slower than I planned. I targeted $3000 this month and right now I am at $2085.36. That is not bad, but I really could have easily hit the $3000 mark with a little more commitment.

Getting committed is probably one of the biggest things I see holding people back in various forums I read. Those who are succeeding are the ones who are putting in continuous activity. Some are doing things wrong, but are still moving ahead. They ask for a little help, get it and move forward.

Part of me getting committed is talking to you about it in this blog. It gets easier to do the things I talk about on a regular basis. Another part is listening to motivational tapes and CDs by Tony Robbins, Brian Tracey, Jim Rohn and a few others I have.

One key to success is, when you are hot and on a roll, keep going until that heat is exhausted. Taking action when you are psyched up to work is a major factor in getting more done. This month my best days working on Ebay just flowed. I need to pay closer attention to those days and see how much I really can accomplish and how long I can keep the momentum going.

Since I do mainly seven day auctions on Ebay, there is not time enough to increase my sales much this month, but once again next month I will set a target, but this time it will be $4000.

The stuff I am selling is mainly from my parents estate. Old toys and glassware they accumulated over the years. Some of it is my own personal stuff. A little of it is stuff I purchased to sell on Ebay. Soon I will experiment with magazine ads from old Life Magazines and other older publications.
