Writing It Down Clarifies It

I went over my list and the re-wrote it today (see yesterday’s blog).  I spent another 30 minutes writing the same things down. This time a couple more things occurred to me.  Writing it down clarified it.  When you put things down on paper in handwriting, you are attacking a situation form a lot of angles.  You are working on it visually as you see the words flow.  You are thinking as you write.  As you write, the action of writing is transferred to your brain through your central nervous system.  If you read you list out loud, you add another dimension to it.

The whole purpose of this writing exercise is to come up with ideas to move you forward with any project.   Come on!  Go along with me. If this doesn’t work for you, you will have spent an hour or so looking at what you are doing.  You will have at least given another idea a try.

Yesterday, Sharon and I spent the entire day at the beach. We left here at 9:30 in the morning and came back after dinner.  It was a great day and made me think a lot.  I believe we need to get away more often.  Spend time outside enjoying life’s offerings.  Yes, a couple ideas came to mind regarding what I had written about that morning. I wrote them down and will possibly follow up on them.

We are lucky to be able to spend the day at the beach. I was in a short sleeve shirt and Sharon had a light jacket on.  At the second beach, “Surfer’s Point” there were at least half a dozen  women surfing in bikinis.  Dangerous in our 53 degree water, but they were out there along with the seasoned surfers who surf in wet suits year round here.  Our coastal water is not that warm and hypothermia can set in quickly.

As I read the weather across the United States, it is WINTER in a lot of places.  Snow and sub-zero weather.  It makes me thankful I live where I do.
