Taking Notes and Making Money
Taking notes and making money go together. Marking up books with highlighting and notes in the margins is a good idea. This is difficult to do in forums you read. Taking notes online can be done easily by opening a program like MS Word or in Windows, Wordpad. You keep it open when you read a forum. When you come across an inspiring comment or a great piece of information, you copy and paste it into your text program. You do not want to use a simple program that does know keep links active. If there are links you want to be able to use them.
Another way is to save the entire page to a file folder on your computer. This will get you a lot of extra information you don’t want or need, but sometimes it is easier than trying to copy and paste.
Once you have a file of information you have taken from a forum, read it and implement the tips, hints and ideas. Until you use the information it is no better than a book on the shelf gathering dust.
What is a file like this called? In online circles it is called a “swipe file”. You swipe information, put it in you “notebook” and use it to learn at a later time.
If you get a lot of information in you “swipe file” you could reword it and create an ebook on topics of interest. NEVER, just copy and paste your swipe file information into an ebook and use it as your own. This is plagiarism. All posts in a forum are the copyrighted property of the person who wrote it. Almost ALL information on the internet is copyright even if you don’t see a copyright notice.
