Submit Articles About Your Site

If you write and submit articles about your site topic, you can get traffic.  OK, the idea is write and article that relates to the topic of your site.  Put you “signature” at the bottom with a very short description of yourself or your site or the topic.  Put a link back to your site in the “signature”.  Submit your article to an “article directory”, which is a website that accepts articles written by others.  The idea is that this article directory allows people to use any article on their website, or newsletter as long the the user leaves the signature intact.

If your article is popular, many websites will publish it.  Your link will now be on a lot of websites.  You will get traffic to your site from people who click on this link.  More importantly, search engines will pick up your link on other sites and rate your site higher because they think you are more popular because others are linking back to you.  This is called “back links” or links on other sites that link back to yours.  It is said this is an important part of being ranked on the first page in search engines.

Many posts in various forums have said that this tactic has boosted their traffic significantly.  You can submit more than one article. Some submit one or two articles a week.

So, I have two articles written. One for each of two of my sites.  I will submit the articles and see how well they do.  This may take days or weeks to see the ultimate results, so it won’t be a tactic that will produce results tomorrow.

My PPC (pay per click) campaign is going slow.  I have upped my payment to $0.40.  The product I am targeting is very popular and I am only on page two of the search results.  Many people talk about doing well with PPC and only paying 5 cents per click using less sought after keywords and phrases.  After the holidays I will get heavier into this.

You need to keep track of you PPC campaigns.  They can easily run away from you if you are not careful and you could end up with a $300 or $600 bill and not make much from the ads.  This happens if you DO NOT watch the ads you post and the results you are getting from them.

Today, I tweaked my ad slightly.  I changed the wording.  I may increase my bid amount, but since I don’t have an actual product and depend on Adsense, I’m not sure where my break even point between the two is.  I have an affiliate link, but may or may not get results from it.  I may take this ad up to $0.52 today and see what happens.  I need to shut that down before we leave for Christmas with family. I’d hate to come back and find a large bill and no income.  This is what I am talking about when I say to keep track of your campaigns.
