Frugal Living Can Mean Abundant Living
You can live on less and have more. This works two ways. By giving up the excesses in your life, obviously you will have more resources to save or use to better advantage. Frugal living offers opportunities to get ahead and have a nest egg to fall back on in hard times. You will have money for things you might not otherwise have by adopting a more frugal lifestyle.
One way to have more on less it to shop at thrift shops, consignment shops and garage sales. Frugal shopping means getting much more for much less. If you plan all your purchases from stores around sales, you will also save a huge amount of money.
So, look for ways you can have more for less and live well doing it.
We are in Southern California and the fall fire season has started. This is a dry area that has dry vegetation on the hills and mountains. The temperature will be over 100 today and fires are out of control. This is a bad time of year here. I am glad we live in the city away from any hills and brush.
OUCH! I am sitting here in shorts and my cat jumped in my lap. He missed my shorts and put a couple long scratched in my leg. I think it is time to clip his nails again.
Our fires make me think how important it is to KNOW what to take when you have to evacuate your home. Many people are under mandatory evacuation right now. They quickly grab things and leave. Did they grab the right stuff? When I go camping I have a printed check list to be sure I don’t forget anything. Maybe it would be a good idea to have a printed check list if you live where evacuations are a possibility.
Maybe it would be a good idea to have all important papers and family photo albums in one room. Have them all easy to get to. Maybe keep you albums in one of those plastic storage boxes. We often think of these things when it is too late. Maybe we should have an emergency plan for our families.
Another idea it to video tape every possession you have in your home. If you home is lost it is almost impossible to remember everything you lost.
