Jan 26, '05 Garage Sales Are Fun
It is a drizzly morning here in Coastal California. They say we are in for some more rain. As I have gotten older I enjoy more types of weather than I did when I was younger. Even rain on the weekend is not all that bad anymore.
Sharon is happy with the new entertainment center cabinets in her warehouse kitchen. They have given her a lot more room. Both of us are disorganized and prone to clutter, so any help like this is wonderful.
The cabinets came from a garage sale for $15, as I told you. Garage sales have been part of our lives since way back about 1975. A neighbor was working with a group that was having a rummage sale. We went up to "just look" and found some wonderful bargains. We were hooked. From a single rummage sale it was weekly garage sales. WOW! Did you know you can go broke saving money? You get such wonderful bargains at garage sales you do not know when to stop.
If you go to garage sales weekly, you can become more selective in what you buy. It get to the point you can buy almost all NEW clothes that someone did not fit into, or junior outgrew before they were worn. We were even getting brand new gowns for Sharon to wear to the annual company Christmas dinner and dance.
Have you been to a garage sale lately? Out here in California the season is all year long. We do not have the cold and snow that makes people put off holding garage sales. You can find quite a few every weekend.
