Jan 20, '05 We Had A Fun Trip
Our trip to visit my son, his lovely wife and our granddaughter was a lot of fun. I love the gated community where they live. Some picture a gated community as a few blocks of houses crammed together. Not the case here. This is a huge area, big enough you could name it a recreation area park. Here is a picture of one area. Everything you see is part of the Bear Valley Springs Community. Remember, this is only part of it.
On our trip home, which is about 150 miles, we stopped at the Mojave Space Port, or Mojave Airport. This is where the X-Prize was won for the first commercial space craft to enter space. It is also a storage facility for a large number of commercial jetliners. These jets have been taken out of service and are stored here until they needed again. The dry desert climate helps preserve the aircraft while in storage.
I need to get back to work today. The short holiday is over
and it is time to try and make a living. I would really rather be out and about
than here in the office.
