Work Harder, Not Smarter

Often we put in a lot of energy and work harder, not smarter. That seems to be what Sharon and I are doing at the moment.  With a move out deadline, I am not thinking or working as smart as I should be.  Since we were given two weeks to move on a limited budget, it gets confusing as to what to do.

As with all things this will work itself out and for us, usually that means for the better.  In the mean time this is very inconvenient to say the least.

What we want is for this wake up call to be the motivation we need to get ourselves going a high speed instead of creeping along as we have done in the past.

Inertia.  It is our friend and our enemy.  A body in motion continues in motion until acted upon by an outside force.  This also applies just the opposite to a body at rest.  You need a strong enough force and any movement or lack of movement with change dramatically.

We have a force pushing hard at our “body at rest”.  We have begun to move, but we need more push to get us over the hump that holds us back.

I think our situation is that we are seeing small returns and not being EXCITED about what we are doing.  On days an item sells for $100 or more I get excited.  On days I get an internet marketing commission of $50, I get excited.  The problem is that there are those $10 sales and $0.50 commissions and they do not motivate me to work harder.

What we all have to understand is the normal process of progress.  Crawl first, then walk.  Walk then run.  Run then learn to go even faster on a bicycle.  One day we progress to getting a car or some even an airplane.

Life is just like that too.  A steady progress of natural steps that lead us where we want to go.  Sometimes we get too impatient and try to run before we can walk.  A few can do that, but for most of use we need to follow the natural flow and reach our goals through a series of steps.
