Rewards Are What It Is About
Why do you work? Rewards is what it is all about. We work to reap the benefits of the paycheck. Lately our rewards are going camping and today we are heading out to a group camping rally. This is the San Dimas Rally of friends we have met online. Most will be coming from Southern California. Some from the San Diego area and north to Apple Valley.
These are all people who met in a forum and said, “Let’s go camping together”. We are not an organization or club. This is just people who meet online and want to get together for a common activity. Our activity is camping in RVs, trailers and motorhomes.
Because I am leaving my computer for the weekend, I will back it up and take the backup with me. I back up fairly regularly, but need to do it daily. I have two external hard drives I can use to backup on. I had been backing up on CDs and then DVDS, but backing up to a hard drive is much easier. Have two copies on separate external drives guarantees the safety of my business even more.
If you back up, you should store copies of your backup at a remote location. A friends house or safety deposit box or public storage. The thing is you have to REGULARLY move you backups to the remote location.
There are online, secure, backup sites for backing up you important data and pictures. I have never tried one and do not known how secure they are are how good they are. In the past I have know of picture storage hosts going out of business and people never being able to get the pictures they stored back. Unfortunately that is the only place they had their pictures.
I like doing things myself, so keeping my own backup at my own locations makes sense to me.
Why backup? Two reasons. Computers die or get infected with viruses and you lose data. Computers are lost. Lost? Fire, tornado, theft or even just left sitting in a cafe. People forget to take their laptop with them. BACKUP YOUR COMPUTER!
