I Made An Ebay Mistake

Yesterday I had my plan set and then forgot it.  I made an Ebay mistake by listing my items at the wrong time of day.  Yes, there is a correct time of day to list things. That time is when the customer is most likely to be online.

For personal and collectible items you want your auction to end between 5 and 8 p.m Pacific time.  That is between 8 and 11 Eastern time.  Do you notice the logic?  You are listing auctions when most people will be available to look at them.  Most people are home and online in those hours wherever in the United States or Canada they live.

So last night I listed my auctions in that time frame and that was my problem.  Remember I said “when the customer is most likely to be online”?  The customer I was targeting was business people who are online during the day.  I wanted to list my items between 9 and noon Pacific time, or noon and 3 Eastern time.

Listing at the proper time of day can mean the difference between your item selling or not selling.  It can also be the difference making a $10 sale and that same item selling for $100.  I was not thinking when I did my listing.

As for internet marketing, I have not been doing much other than reading IM manuals since I have started selling on Ebay again.  I am finding it hard to focus on two jobs.  Ebay is what I know and is easier to get things done there.  IM is still in the learning curve stages and the money is not coming in fast enough to brag about.

I really need to focus more on the internet marking and get both going strong at the same time.  Ebay because it is what I know and makes me money today and IM because it has a great potential and can be done from anywhere in the world as easily as from home or office.
