Ebay Is Working For Us
This month we started selling on Ebay again. We had been taking an Ebay vacation for a while. I told you our goal for this month was $3000. We are over half way there. Our main sales are for late 1950’s toys. These are listed on the site I said I would not make public.
In the past our main Ebay income came from used computer equipment we got from large companies when they upgraded equipment. When our primary source dried up, most of our sales were from personal type items. The bigger dollar sales we had were on antiques and pre-1960 toys.
Some internet friends sell their own creations, candles, oil paintings, water color paintings. One key to selling is to price higher than your competition for your items. Give them perceived value. A lot of paintings sell on Ebay for $25. Some sellers put more value on their art and sell their paintings for $99 and they get it. It is an interesting marketplace.
Of course selling on Ebay has put a damper on my internet marketing efforts. I have barely done anything with my websites. Almost all I have done is write my blogs. I really need to get settled in with the Ebay sales and balance my time with web marketing. Of course, in the short term I am making more with Ebay than with other internet enterprises, so it is hard to devote the time.
In the long haul, I am sure the profit will be more with internet marketing, but right now I need to pay the bills, so Ebay is getting my attention.
