Ebay Is Taking All My Time
Since I have started back selling on Ebay it is taking all of my time. Of course I cannot complain too much because it is also generating income. It is also making me organize my warehouse more so things I want to sell are easier to find and get to.
Our warehouse! OK, imagine a closet stuffed with all the things you have stored over the years. Then, imagine your parents died and you stuffed their stuff in the closet too. Now you have our warehouse. It is 6000 square feet of chaos. Most of what we have is obsolete computer equipment with very little value.
I would love to just throw away most of my old inventory, keeping only the things that still have some value worth the effort. I cannot throw out electronic inventory.
Computer equipment is considered “toxic waste”. Even your cell phone is toxic waste if you throw it in the trash. Every piece of electronic equipment has circuit boards with parts on them. These parts are held in place with solder. Solder is made from lead and lead is considered toxic waste in landfills.
There are answers, but they are time consuming and right now my time is best spent making money to keep up with the bills instead of solving a long standing problem of excess inventory.
The good thing about all this old stuff, I can test whether it will sell on Ebay. I can offer one piece or I can offer a pallet load. I can offer either for $9.99 and who knows, maybe it will all get sold in pallet loads.
When you are selling on Ebay, not everything will sell. Combine a number of things into a lot and try again. Offer a super deal just to get rid of things that are not moving.
