Time Chart & Daily Plan
Between a time chart that tracks what I do during the day and a daily plan that tells me how much time I need to spend on different projects, I am moving forward.
When I started putting things on paper and paying attention to what I had been doing each day, a pattern started showing up. I was not really working. I was at the computer. I was in the warehouse, but I was not creating and actually doing productive work most of the time.
If you are not where you would like to be on any project you wish to achieve, start evaluating what you are doing and learn what you need to do. You may find, as I have, you can improve in many areas you thought were already productive.
You can achieve a lot more if you write down some sort of plan. A written plan is the key to achievement of any kind. Every motivational or time marketing speaker I have ever heard emphasizes written plans or written goals.
Did you do that one small thing I asked you to do the other day? I asked you to simply write on a piece of paper, “I can do it”. It does not matter what “IT” is, just think of where you would like to be headed and then write, in hand writing, not printing, “I can do it”. I believe you can do it. In fact I know you can do it. The key is to begin simply with small things and move forward a step at a time.
Moving forward a step at a time means progress, but sometime you take one step forward and two steps backwards. That is OK. The key to success is keep taking those forward steps. It does not matter how many times you go backwards as long as you keep taking those forward steps.
You probably heard that Thomas Edison failed and failed and failed trying to invent and electric light bulb. Each step forward was rewarded by two steps backward, but perseverance gave us electric light. It is the same for you and I perseverance will reward us if we keep at our tasks.
