Do You Spend Too Much Time......
Yesterday I was reading a forum for too long. Do you spend too much time in forums and chat rooms? Yes, I know that internet marketing forums have a lot of information and you can get a real education by reading the posts. However, I find myself spending more time in forums than I should.
Forums can be good for your internet marketing efforts. If you post to forums, you signature and your website will become better known. Of course your posts should be quality questions and answers. There are a lot of forums and if you can post a quality post in a number of them during the course of a week, your name and website will become known. You will get traffic and your income grows from traffic.
One caution is DO NOT post a lot of nothing posts. “I agree” or “That was a good post” and similar posts that don’t contribute to the conversation get your name noticed, but not in a worthwhile context. When you have a quality opinion or can answer a question, that is the time to post. When you need an answer to a question, ask the question. Don’t ask question you know the answer to just to get noticed.
Here is a tip that will save you a lot of time when reading forums. When you see a post you want to read, the normal thing is to click the link, go to the post, read it and then return to the forum menu. This wastes a lot of time because your connection to each page takes time and returning takes time. THE ANSWER is to hold down your keyboard SHIFT key then click on the link to the post you are interested in. This will open the post in a new window. Now go down the list of post and do the same with every topic that sounds interesting. At times I have had 30 open windows.
Another thing I do is to open the first post then minimize it and drag its corners into a small size. I want the new window I opened to be only about 2 inches square. I then close that post an then open it again. This time the opened post is the size I closed it at. Now each post I open will be a small box. This technique will keep the main menu visible most of the time.
