PPC Working or Not?
I am not sure if my Google Adwords PPC campaign is working or not (see yesterday’s blog). I started bidding my ads at $0.14 (fourteen) and throughout the day increased it to $0.36 without seeing any noticeable difference. Yesterday my wife posted in a forum and my Adsense VISITS went up, but not the income. This morning I am starting the day off with a few clicks on my ad that I am paying for and am getting some income, but not enough to determine where it is coming from.
Later today I think I will start another ad running in Adwords. The way I am selecting the page I want to target with ads is by looking at my statistics on which pages on my site get the most traffic. Also the pages that Adsense is paying me the most on. Since the pages are already generating traffic, it stands to reason that those are the pages I should target my ad campaigns toward.
Many people I read about in forums are generating a large part of their income by paying for ads that link back to their pages. They often have their own product they are selling, but many of them are bringing traffic to their site only to sell someone else’s product or to get clicks on their AdSense ads.
Getting traffic from “organic means” or from natural processes of being found in search engines and being found because of other unpaid means is slow. Yes, some sites are a hit almost overnight, but most sites take a long time to build traffic.
In addition to PPC I plan to write and submit two articles between today and tomorrow. Articles can be submitted to sites that collect articles that are free to use by anyone. The condition of using these articles is keeping the links in the articles intact. The links in the article or the bio at the end are back to your own website. Again, reading in forums tells me that a lot of people are getting a lot of traffic from this tactic.
