Challenge: Can You Make $1 Million?

In the Warrior Forum there is a thread, “The Warrior $1,000,000 Challenge”.  Take a look at it at $1,000,000 Challenge. To me that is a very interesting idea. For years I have believed I could make a million. I have read, “Think and Grow Rich” a number of times. I have listened to Tony Robbin, Earl Nightingale, Brian Tracey, Denis Waitley, Robert Schuller and quite a few more.  I am up to that challenge.

My plan is to make $1 million by the end of 2006.  “It is better to shoot for the moon and hit and eagle than to shoot for an eagle and hit a rock”.  Yes, that is aiming high, but I have it within me.  I just need to find the right triggers to pull and buttons to push INSIDE ME.

Could you set a goal that is hard to imagine, but others have accomplished so you know it is possible for someone to do?  If someone could do it is it remotely possible that with the right information you could too?  Could you set your goal for 2 years or 5 years?

The very first thing you need to reach any goal is a reason.  If you don’t have a reason, you won’t have enough motivation to reach your goal.  Money for money’s sake is a poor reason the try to acquire riches.  You need a reason you are passionate about to reach a goal.  For me I would love for my children to own their own homes. OWN them, not be making payments on them.  In this way they could use their income for family, investments, savings and just plain fun.

When we were at the beach I saw  a homeless man getting his lunch from the trash cans.  He hoped someone had left half a sandwich.  I gave him a half a can of Doritos and some cash.  I would love to support our local agencies and missions that take care of the homeless.

Once when we were dead broke and had just been evicted from our house, Internet friends sent us a large baskets of goodies. Candy bars, deodorant, wet hand wipes and much more toiletries and neat stuff.  It brightened our day — in fact is had us smiling for a few weeks.  I would love to be able to do the same type of  thing for battered women’s shelters.

Sharon and I would love to visit Australia, Fiji, Tahiti, Connecticut, New York, England and many other places.  Where would you like to go?  What would you like to do?

Once you have some powerful reasons that will keep you motivated if you think about them every day, you need a plan.  If you plan to make a large sum of money it means you are in business.  A business needs a business plan.  You need to sit down and write down how you plan to earn the amount you have set for yourself.  Thinking about it, or having the plan in your head WILL NOT WORK.  You need to treat this as a REAL business and write a plan.  Read the plan regularly, act on it, modify it, change directions and re-write the plan, BUT you need to get it written down.

OK, 2006 isn’t here yet. Start planning today. Use December to get your mind wrapped around a goal.  If you goal is lower or higher, WRITE IT DOWN!  Start thinking about it and believing you can do it.  I BELIEVE I CAN.  I believe I have the intelligence and the resources.

Yesterday I started listening to one of my Brian Tracey tape programs on time management.  Brian is very impressive with his ideas and ways to succeed in time management.  I bought my tapes on Ebay. Do an Ebay search for Brian Master Time.  If you don’t find it today, search for it another day. You only need a few words for an effective search.  The whole program name is “How To Master Your Time”.  Here’s a quick search box to help you.
