Saving Money By "Vacationing" Close To Home

Sharon and I are ready to head out for our mid-week camping trip.  We will spend two days less than 15 miles from home.  Of course we will be right on the beach, so it doesn’t matter how far away or how close we are.

Think about the ways you can “vacation” close to home.  With today’s fuel costs, staying close to home when you have a day, weekend or longer outing means your budget is not subject to so much shock.

Most people have wonderful things close to home they can enjoy.  There are parks, zoos, forests, beaches and so much more right in your own area.  By deciding to explore close to home you can save a lot of money and learn a lot about what your community or county has to offer.  I love it when we camp close to home and save a lot on gas.  It is just as much fun camping 15 miles from home as it is 300 miles away.

Nothing beats a day of fun by the ocean
