Saving Money Online
Yesterday my wife and I were out shopping and found a great shop vacuum at OSH hardware store. $69.99 and made by Craftsman. A little more than we wanted to spend, so we passed it by. Later, Sharon looked it up on the internet at Sears. It was on sale for $54.95 until Oct 1st. Well, it was 10 o’clock at night when she found this ad BUT it was still 10–1–2005 so she placed an order and got the sale price at 10 o'clock at night. No shipping charge because they have a box to check for picking it up at the local Sears store.
There are also a lot of bargains online from stores that sell for less than your local stores. Maybe a store in another state has just what you want for $100 less than any local store has it for. This is for real. Price an expensive camera in your area and then search for a good price online. Do the same for many items you would like to buy. The internet has opened new sources for buying just about anything.
We love a bargain and yesterday was a good example of it. Not only did we get a new vacuum, but Sharon got a bouquet of flowers. We were in Home Depot, another hardware store, and they had many varieties of flowers for only $5.95. I just couldn’t pass up buying my wife a bouquet of flowers.
When we were newly weds 39 years ago we used to buy carnations at a local grower’s flower stand. They were 50 cents a dozen. I used to buy 2 to 4 dozen at a time. Sharon was the envy of the apartment building we lived in. Not many husbands brought their wives flowers regularly.
