James Martell's Course Works For Us
Another course we bought in our effort to learn as much as possible about online publishing is Jame’s Martell’s e-book course. Check it out at James Martell This course is a hands on course, but is still aimed at fairly easy website building using Frontpage as the main program for building your website. It does not require Frontpage if you know how to build pages in other programs, but its main direction is to build pages in Frontpage. It is an easy read with fairly good instructions. James gives a number of tips on creating pages that rank well in search engines.
There are various tactics for good search engine placement. Each seems to work and if you continually apply a technique, you should do well also. Don’t expect overnight results. Search engines are continuously changing to improve their ability to provide quality content. Often your site is not indexed as quickly as you would like and as highly ranked. It is a matter of adding new content on a regular basis and following the techniques presented by the author you are studying.
I am studying different authors and trying different things on various pages of the sites I am working on. That is a MAJOR technique all the of the website development authors tell you to do, “Experiment, experiment, experiment”. Read and aply their techiniques to get started, but experiment as you learn more of what you are doing.
