Jan 24, '05 Monday -- Back To Work
Another Monday is here, but when you work for yourself, Monday loses it's meaning. The self employed often work 6 and 7 days a week. Also being self employed means you ca have you weekend in the middle of the week when crowds are smaller. Since being full time self employed, I have put in longer hours and worked more days a week than I ever did working for a "boss". However, although I make less money, I am much happier than when I was "legitimately" employed. I do not eat TUMS anymore. I am more relaxed and comfortable within myself.
Today I need to organize my work area a little. It gets cluttered an I can not work as efficiently. I am a fairly disorganized person and my warehouse is more cluttered than it is neat. Another hard way to do business. I only sell on Ebay, so my warehouse is not open to the public. Maybe that is part of the problem. I can be messy and no one knows.
My blog was created because Sharon and I are in the process of slowly retiring. I have turned income producing over to her and I work to help her. OR, she gets the money and I get to help. Kind of a reversal of what it was when she was a housewife and mother. The blog is part of our internet presence. Being on the internet is another "job" you can make money with. We believe that Sharon's internet sites will make as much money as she could make with a "real" job. It is not a get rich quick idea. It takes time to create internet income. We think this program will help. FREE Internet Development Book The book is a free download and tells you everything you need to do to make a successful web site. Follow this book and you do not have to buy anything.
Sharon and I went to a couple garage sales this weekend. We bought a two piece entertainment center. It is going in the warehouse "kitchen" to put the microwave in and for storage of dishes and pantry items we use. Both cost only $15, so we figure we got a real bargain.
At another garage sale we bought another two small white cabinets. One is like a medicine cabinet without mirrors and the other is a matching glass door display case. Again, we paid $15 for both. I wanted these as a dust free place to store things in our bedroom. We have the perfect place for them.
Although we have not been to many garage sales lately, they are one of our favorite money saving fun things to do.
